Phase 1
The de-construction of a cinema complex 75m x 40m x 16m above a live multi storey car park positioned some 30 metres above ground level. This presented extensive problems with regard to:- Access
- Water ingress
- Noise
- Dust
- Vibration
Phase 2
The de-construction of a 120m long office block, 6 storeys in height, 25m wide with 50% of the office structure to be demolished by reduction of 5 storeys from above a fully operational Littlewoods Store!We employed:
- Extensive temporary and permanent steelwork
- 10 x the normal public safety factors
- Vibration free techniques
- Methods to ensure the 3000 tonnes of material did not puncture the water proof membrane
- Heavy craneage, remote controlled plant and specialist concrete cutting techniques
- Methods to work around live services which could not be diverted until week 12 of the 26 week programme
- Weather proofing to internal floor slabs to act as functional exposed roofs
- Incorporated additional extensive building works
- Worked 16 weekends without the Client incurring additional cost
- Achieved final account settlement within 3 weeks of Practical Completion.
