2007 - Finalist Following last years success in this category we were pleasantly surprised (a slight understatement) to be short listed again down to the last 4 companies in the most popular category, which received its highest number of entries ever.
Silver Helmet For Safety
While we were unsuccessful this time round, we believe this demonstrates our commitment to Health & Safety and our desire for continual improvement.
Our congratulations go to Thomas Vale Construction, who was a deserving winner.
Quote from the award ceremony brochure:
“A multi-pronged approach is helping Coleman and Company improve its health and safety record. It has started a scheme to help reduce occupational road risks and has initiated joint pre-start site visits with its client partners to help improve site safety. A summer project carried out by a university student, analysing the firm’s accident and absenteeism data, produced key data for identifying and improving health risk, while an occupational health programme was also introduced. A safety incentive scheme open to all helped boost safety through peer pressure, and this was complemented by a further site supervisors and managers incentive scheme.”
