Silver Helmet For Safety
Following last years success in this category we were pleasantly surprised (a slight understatement) to be short listed again down to the last 4 companies in the most popular category, which received its highest number of entries ever.
While we were unsuccessful this time round, we believe this demonstrates our commitment to Health & Safety and our desire for continual improvement.
Our congratulations go to Thomas Vale Construction, who was a deserving winner.
Quote from the award ceremony brochure:
“A multi-pronged approach is helping Coleman and Company improve its health and safety record. It has started a scheme to help reduce occupational road risks and has initiated joint pre-start site visits with its client partners to help improve site safety. A summer project carried out by a university student, analysing the firm’s accident and absenteeism data, produced key data for identifying and improving health risk, while an occupational health programme was also introduced. A safety incentive scheme open to all helped boost safety through peer pressure, and this was complemented by a further site supervisors and managers incentive scheme.”
