Corporate Social Responsibility
Coleman & Company balances modern business thinking and practices with the traditional beliefs that you would want from a third generation family business:
- Being a good employer
- Generating wealth for the areas we work in, by employing local people and working with local suppliers
- Engaging positively with local communities
- Treating our supply chain fairly
We are a progressive Company offering a wide variety of job opportunities, within our diverse business. In 2008 we set ourselves the target of providing work experience, training and apprenticeships for local people as a way into work. Together with local schools, colleges, universities and parents we now provide work experience opportunities from anything between a week and a year.
We have also benefitted from working with agencies representing the long-term unemployed and we have benefitted from the pre-employment training they undertake to give people employability skills. This partnership approach has resulted in 5% of our workforce being derived from this sector in 2011.
